Pre-season Friendly - Tuesday 30th July - versus Worsbrough Bridge U-21s
Match Report - Kerr and Norbury Provide Friendly Magic
A strong Wombwell Town team put a valiant Worsbrough Bridge Under 21 team to the sword in the second half after the visitors put up a brave first half fight.
It was an even first half with just the one goal separating the teams after 45 minutes.
Luke Norbury continued to form his partnership with Bradley Kerr with a well placed ball into open space which saw the striker score with a diving header.
It was the first of three from the former Worsbrough Bridge player who latched onto another Norbury cross on 51 minutes for his second and nutmegged the keeper on 68 minutes after beating the offside trap from Craig Hart's ball forward.
The hat-trick ball made the game 5-1 with new signing Chris Brynes making it 2-0 three minutes after the re-start when the midfielder slotted home the ball across goal.
Kerr repaid Norbury on 55 minutes by setting up last season's top scorer who controlled the ball at the edge of the area before taking his time to pick his spot and smash the ball in.
Worsbrough U-21s got on the score sheet on 67 minutes when a series of substitutions disjointed the Weller's players briefly.
The final goal of the game came on 72 minutes when Nathan Kendrick found himself taking on two players on the right hand side before carrying the ball into the box and beating the keeper at the near post.
