Junior Football Tournament 2022

Wombwell Town Football Club are delighted to announce they will be hosting their second Junior Football Tournament.
After the success of the initial tournament last July we will be doing it all over again on the final weekend of June 2022. Saturday 25th June will see the a competition for the Under 8 (full) age group with entries also at Under 9 and Under 11. Sunday 26th June will see the an additional Under 9 competition plus entries at Under 10 (full) and Under 12. There are spaces available for 12 teams per age group at £25 a team (£40 for two). Age groups for players will be for the 2022/23 season (so U8 teams for 2021/22 will be entered for U9 in the tournament). The tournament will be held at Wombwell Recreation Ground, Station Road, Wombwell, Barnsley, S73 0BJ. Our sanctioning form has been submitted to our County FA. It is with great sadness that we have cancelled our Under 8 (Girls) section due to lack of interest. However, we have replaced it with an U9 section for Sunday 26th June. Both U9 sections will run separately, so teams could enter a side on each day (£25 for one day, £40 for both) and play the same squad, or make changes to suit player availability. Spaces available: U8 (Saturday) - FULL U9 (Saturday) - 2 U9 (Sunday) - 6 U10 (Sunday) - FULL U11 (Saturday) - 7 U12 (Sunday) - 6 Email wtfctournament@gmail.com Update: 05/04/22 The matches will be: U8 = 5v5 (maximum squad size of eight) All other age groups = 7v7 (maximum squad size of ten) This is due to the size of pitch available. All teams can be either all boys, all girls, or teams with a mixture of both.
